Burning Sausages at Work
As I was saying it has been uncharacteristically cold here and have had snow and ice for nearly 10 days. On Friday the heat turned off about breaktime since I normally eat my afternoon snack sitting in the window sill with my legs hanging over the radiator. I just figured with the weekend ahead it was just turing off. When we came in Monday there has NO heat in the entire building so HR cooked up rashers, sausages, toast and we had a bit of breakie to try and warm us from the inside. Nothing like seeing your breath at your desk to make your Monday one to remember. Just nice to have a bit of a treat on the boss when there are unnatural working conditions.
Strange Anomaly #45
I guess technically it is not strange, but like Portland the ENTIRE city shuts down with even a mild dusting of snow. The only difference is that since Europe is not slaves to their cars as Americans are, they still can walk to work. So even though it has been below 0 for the last week, snow and ice on the roads and footpaths, there still is a full house at work. We did get to get off early one day when it was snowing like crazy and we wanted to catch buses home!
